Editorial policy
Modern Design Journal aims to make design ideas clear, useful and candid about their limits. Our editorial choices are guided by relevance to readers and by the quality of the explanation, not by a promise of a particular outcome.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual statements against suitable references before publication and distinguish general design principles from personal preference. Where advice depends on a particular product, space or condition, we make that context clear rather than presenting it as universal.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made separately from commercial arrangements. A partnership does not buy favourable coverage, and we do not present a paid placement as an independent editorial recommendation.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us with the article subject and the detail that needs attention. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers where appropriate.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner material is clearly identified as such, including partner placements on the site. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; they are illustrative and are not presented as photographs of real projects or spaces.
Good design makes room for real life
We look beyond the new and the polished to consider how spaces work, what can be kept, and which small changes make a difference.
